To the Sahtu Dene, land is not simply geography. The land represents a library of stories, the accumulated wisdom and experience of previous generations. The Elders are the keepers of the stories, which they pass on to young people. One way to learn about the land is to travel to a place a point, a river mouth, a tall hill - and listen to an Elder tell the stories of that place.
